For the longest time, I looked to the scale for encouragement. I looked to the scale for measurement of how hard I was working when in reality that was counterproductive. Every time you gain muscle, the scale goes up. Therefore, it would give me the impression that I was not eating little enough since I was working out a lot. The scale can bring in a lot of different mental complications. This is why I advise everybody to ditch the scale. It is not necessary. Take measurements and look at how your clothes fit. These are the best indications of whether or not you're showing progress. Always remember skinny does not equal fit and fit does not equal skinny.
As Tony Horton says, "do your best and forget the rest"
